The first item we all need is a good car wash. Meguiar's sent me their Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner. Mix four capfuls (one ounce) into a gallon of water. They note that the car should be cool to the touch and not done in direct sun. What kind of a test would it be if I followed all the instructions! Since I never wet wash my Mustang, I did my wife's PT Cruiser, half in the sun and half in the shade. May I say, they were right! Do it all in the shade! On a cool car! The sun side had water spots that were difficult to wax away. My suggestion is to follow Meguiar's instructions!
Here is the picture after the car was washed with Gold Classic.

The car was quite shiny, but needed a good wax job. So the next items to try were Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax "2.0" and its mate, NXT Generation Tech Wax Spray.

The 2.0 is a liquid paste wax that comes with a round applicator. It went on very easily, but was typical of paste waxes and came off with quite a bit of buffing with my towel. I did the hood, front fenders and top in about 30 minutes. Enough of that! I next tried the NXT Generation Tech Wax Spray. "Shine in Minutes" is what it says on the front label. And shine it did! I did the rest of the car - four doors, rear deck and quarter panels, in about 8 minutes! That is fast! My vote? Go with the Tech Wax Spray. Fast, easy, just spray, wipe off, buff up! Meguiar's, you have a winner with this product! Now I know some of you just LOVE using paste wax, liquid or in a can. Great! The 2.0 did a very remarkable job. In my opinion, I got the same clean, smooth results with the Tech Wax Spray that I got with the 2.0 paste. Your choice!
The last item I will review in this post is the Meguiar's Hot Rims Chrome Polish.
The chrome wheels on my wife's PT were very badly corroded, pitted and a real mess.

If this product works, it will be a miracle! So I got out my seat I use when I polish my chrome spokes on my Mustang and began. The Hot Rims Chrome Polish did work very well, taking off all of the corrosion, pitting and discoloration. It gave a mirror like appearance, almost looking like it was buffed with a power tool. But it was a lot of work. In fact, I just did one wheel. But don't worry! I will do the rest later, when I get my "foam applicator" they mentioned on the back of the label! I have wanted one anyway, and I guess Meguiars knows that their product works well with the foam applicator. It is made by Mother's, a competitor, but if it makes this chrome cleaner work faster, that's ok.

Then I finished it off with the remarkable Meguiar's High Gloss Hot Shine Tire Spray for a "deep, black, wet look." Shines the wheels and make it ready for the road. The bottle comes with a neat option. The nozzle can be regulated to spray narrow or wide depending on your tire width. I did wipe the tire down after application, that being an option noted on the label. Follow directions, mate!
This ends my first post on Meguiar's products. I still have the Plastx Cleaner & Polish, Quik all Surface Interior Detailer Wipes and Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer which must be a friend of the Meguiar's Detailer that I have been using for years. This is a "New Hydrophobic Polymer Technology" product. I will try this product on my Mustang!
