12th Street Christian Reformed Church Car Show 8-18-08

Welcome to the seventh annual 12th Ave. Christian Reformed Church Car Show! I counted about 50 cars tonight. Many we have seen before, but also some new, exciting cars.
Free hot dogs, chips, drinks and even root beer floats!
I will comment on some of them when I had the opportunity to talk to the owners.
So come and join me as I tour the cars at the event.

Lined up, ready for the judges. Actually, the awards were voted on by the car owners and also by the viewers.
Great looking plaques presented by very nice people in this congregation.

This is a 1934 Plymouth in like new condition. It was parked right next to my Mustang and I must say I was proud to be parked there! Rumble seat! Remember those? I don't! My 29 Model A had one, but that was not in my youth...Very nice car, sir. Oh, I'm sorry, the Mrs. was there, too. Great touring car. They actually drove this car to Detroit! 50 MPH all the way! That is no Trailer Queen!

Seen this one before? Yeah, Bill follows me around to all the shows. Usually takes the trophy, too. I don't know if he did this time, but he has such a clean car (no bugs either) and it shows so well. His info card, placed carefully under the hood, tells the story. Hey, Bill, you are at the wrong church! (Inside joke!)

This very nice Chevy is the work of Mr. Palmbos. His wife says he has many many hours into it and it shows. She also asked if I wanted the children's seats removed before I took the pictures. No! Let's show that this car is "family owned and operated!"

One of the cool colors that changes from purple to green to blue. I never did find out what engine the car had. Never saw anyone around it. But it must be a monster with that big blower sticking through the hood.

This Camero sat on the other side of me. I know that he actually got a trophy for his car. And rightly so. It was like it never left the showroom floor. Great job!
