READER'S RIDE: D-WAN's FD3S Featured On PROTUNERS v4.0

D-WAN, or Lim Kim Wan a veteran from the south has started his drifting career with a A31 and then to his "team orange" 180sx, the one and only 180sx with a roof scoop. LOL Right about this time of the year during 2009, he told me he acquired a FD3s and the plans he had for the monster. Some of you might have seen the car in Singapore when it had its maiden competition at Formula D 2010. Here's what it looks like close up.

Can't wait to take a seat in this car. Heard so much about the 600 ponies running in the engine bay.

I'm in favour of the hint of carbon details in the car but not a fan of the crazy loads of meters on the dash. Clutch pump handbrake mounted on the wrong side? but he was doing so well with the clipping points in FD.. hmm.. LOL!

Rotary Thursday, The FD3S

The Efini Rx7, FD3S had always been one of my favourite cars. If one had never heard of the FD, and been shown an FD today, they would never know its a car from 1992. I reckon this is one of the best piece mazda production car design ever. Its the sexy curves and the way its born slammed that made it stand out from the rest. To many, the rotary engine is the major turn off for the RX7. To some, thats why its special. I admit that maintaining the rotary engine is a pain but the thrill you get from it is absolutely different. Engine brake does not happen on them rotaries and that one of the main potential of the Wankels. Just get the rotary venom injected and plan your budget for one. :D

So thats where he went after Formula Drift Malaysia. Drift On Ice, Hokkaido! WOOT! smell lots of scandy flicks. The picture is so cooling that it makes me feel like a VodBull. BAH, I think I'll have a coffee instead.

FORMULA DRIFT MALAYSIA 2009

, For those who have ever attended any drift event on malaysian soil would have to agree that Formula Drift Malaysia 2009 is the best event we ever had. Time was given to all the drivers around the asian region to prepare and ship their drift machines to Malaysia for the event. This event clearly defines the true meaning of power. Even with the tight track layout, some still struggle to chase during the tandem sessions. Below are some pictures from the practice runs.
