Mark brought his immaculate '55 Chevy Bel Air for all to see. The paint was so clear you could see the gold buried underneath! Great car, Mark.
This is an award winner. Scott brought this like new Pontiac LeMans Sport to the show today not knowing he would win one of five awards given. He should have known! I thought it was right off the showroom floor. The interior was like new, too. It has a 455 engine, heads by Kauffman Racing Equipment so it is as fast as it is good looking. Congratulations, Scott!
A Chevy II Nova SS with an L79 engine and as sharp and clean as can be. Nice car, Cindy and Tom. Cindy had to say it was Tom's car, since she has her own hotrod at home!
Helene says she has regular Michigan plates because she drives this car every day. Doesn't like the restrictions of having a classic plate. I guess she just loves to enjoy this 1965 Ford Mustang with a 302, Holly carb, 4 speed tranny. It took her two and a half years to restore this nice car. Thanks for bringing it, Helene.
This is a type of car that is not seen much at car shows. A full size 1964 Mercury Monterey in a beautiful robin's egg blue. This is Joe's car, and the way he was watching over it is the evidence that he cares quite a bit for this nice Merc!
This car is not black, but dark dark blue. It did a great job impressing the judges, but I think his next door neighbor, also sporting a nice GTO, picked up the trophy.
This is a 1966 Pontiac GTO belonging to Larry and Pam. Guys, if I got it wrong and you were the winner, let me know!
This Black '66 Pontiac GTO is an award winner. Fred is the owner and he looked mighty proud when he stepped up to take the award. The gold interior on this very nice GTO really set it off. Thanks for bringing it here today, Fred.
This is a sharp 1934 Ford Coupe belonging to Bill. Clean lines, nice paint! The interior was all clean and sporty, looking very professionally done. Thanks for showing it to us, Bill.
The only Corvette here today, Pam came to show us what a clean '76 Corvette Stingray should look like. At first, I wasn't too sure if I liked the color, but it kind of grows on you. It looks very sharp in this yellowish tan color. The carmel interior sets it off nicely.
This was another award winner. Jim and Judy brought this very sharp '37 Chevy Coupe with a 327 engine, R4 700 tranny, Mustang front end, 56 Chevy rear end, and good looks all around. Paint by Spencer Auto Body of Ravenna, MI.
Ben brought his 1971 Chevy Chevelle Malibu, with a honkin' 454 engine, 400 tranny, and my gosh, Ben, it is for sale! A cool $24,000 and it is yours! Let me know if you are interested. I think I can track him down.
Here I am accepting the award from one of the judges. He is deputy Chief of the Walker Police department and instead of handing me a ticket, I am being handed the trophy! Thank you, Officer!
What a surprise. Big Red (our car's name, since we graduated from Muskegon High School,) was very happy, too.
Another winner stands with his nice truck and holds his trophy. Congratulations go out to Bob and Ruth on their win with their 1950 Chevy pick-up. This was a son and dad restoration and it took 12 years to complete. It has a 235 6 cylinder with a stick shift and is very clean and sharp.
Thanks to all who put on the show and all participants. Your cars were great, and please don't feel badly if your picture was not posted here. I only have room for just so many. You did a wonderful job and maybe we helped raise some money for the AMBUCS so they can do more good work in the Walker area.
