Gas going Higher and Higher and Higher!

Wow! The price of gas is just going through the roof. I am glad I filled up the Mustang early this year and hope it gets me most of the way through the cruising season!

What can we do? Not much! But I have a way that I am saving a few pennies each time I fill up. I have signed up for the "Speedy Rewards" program at the local Speedway Gas "C" store. Whatever the cost of gas is, I save three cents a gallon and earn points toward more gas.

It is easy and free. Just ask at the store and they will give you a card. Then buy a prepaid gas card(you are going to buy gas anyway) for fifty or a hundred dollars and use it like a credit card. The pump will ask you if you are a Speedy Rewards customer. Simply say yes, scan the Rewards card, then use the gas card and you will get three cents a gallon off your price. Watch for the change in the pump price when you scan your card.

I am not getting paid for this mention of the Speedy Rewards card. They should pay me, but they don't have to. I am happy to receive the discount. Thank you Speedway!

Coming up....the 12th annual Benefit Car Show and Auction for Burn Survivors at the Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park. Bring your cars! The West Michigan Mustang Club is hoping to beat the local VW club and have more Mustangs show up than VWs. Surely we can do that, guys and gals!!

Come over and meet me, your author. Just look for the red 64 1/2 Mustang with the good looking driver and co-driver!

Bunker Hill Chill & Grill, hotrods, fun and food

Well, let's dig deep and see what we have. Spring is just springing right now and no car shows are to be found. I didn't want to leave you hanging for another month, so I thought I would stir up some fond memories of days gone by. Following is a group of fine cars we saw at a place called Bunker Hill Chill & Grill. That's a restaurant and a section of North Allegan County.

Bunker Hill Chill & Grill is a great "Retro" restaurant with a flare for the 60's, black and white and, of course, cars. Excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reasonably priced, clean and friendly waitresses.

This was a new event, I believe the second year. We missed it last year due to my work schedule. I won't let that happen again. It was a lot of fun and some of the Allegan bunch turned up with their hotrods and other great looking rides.

This was a newer Vette that had been redesigned to look like a 54 model. A very nice job, very professional. I was told there was a company that did this kind of thing, but they went out of business. I guess not too many people want to take a $30-$40 thousand dollar Vette and change it that much. Hmmmm.

There. So when you are looking for somewhere to take a short trip this summer, think of West Michigan. Think of Bunker Hill Chill & Grill. Good eats and a fun time.
