River Valley Cruisers Car Show in historic downtown Newaygo. This is part four of four.

Here is the last of the beautiful, kool and hot cars in Newaygo, 2009. It was a great day in spite of the rain. The rain did hold off until the end, but started just as they began to hand out the trophies. I didn't get all of the winners, but did get some pics of a few of the recipients. So gather round, take a look and get excited for the next show!!


American Motors did make some hot looking cars. This AMC AMX is a prime example of what they did at their best. Very exciting design restored to its original condition. Thanks for bringing your car today!

Like most cars in this show, quality was the number one job of restoration. Hot Rod lovers can drool. What a nice, clean, straight car. The paint job was remarkable.

Not just another pretty face, this Hot Rod came with all one needs for buzzing around town. Great looks, great paint and nice folks. I would love a ride in this kool Hot Rod!

I noticed that I chose these two '55 Pontiacs to feature last year. Both are top notch cars with that kool hood ornament. I have always wondered....do they light up at night? If not, I think I would put some bright lighting system inside and make them GLOW!!

This neat Cushman sits inside the next truck. Colors match and all. A very nice display, guys! Does that little Cushman still run? I remember the day.....

This is the Ford that hauls the Cushman. A very good job in restoration and display set up. I always say, presentation is everything and this was presented very well. Great job....

Note the jacket on the back of the seat. Man, would I love a River Valley Cruisers jacket!! What would I do for one of those? Someday, when I join, I will have to steal...er..buy, a jacket like that!

Studebaker Lark, I do believe. So glad someone took the time to restore this car. I have so many memories of riding around town in my buddy Lee's Lark convertible. Wild times! Well, that is the way I remember it anyway, Lee!



Hot little VW. My daughter got her pic taken sitting in this bug. She is a true bug lover. I got to talk to the owner. They have the bug and Elvira sitting next door. Very nice folks, enjoying a day at the car show.

Well, that is all from the River Valley Cruisers Car Show in Newaygo, Michigan. Hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them. Some very special cars were at this show and I regret that I didn't get a pic of every one. Maybe next year I will get some more!!

2008 Holland Car Show

Here are the last, but not the least, of the shots from the 2008 Holland Car Show.
I would like to point out that this show was presented as a joint venture of the Lakeshore Corvette Club and the Vintage Car Club of Holland. It was hosted by the Lakeshore Corvette Club. My thanks to the president of LCCH, Rick George, for that information. Rick and Deb, I hope to see you at some other West Michigan car shows! Feel free to stop by our Mustang. We will be in Jamestown at the Searchlight Ministries Fred Koning Memorial ClassicCar Show tonight, Friday the 13th. Zeeland will probably be next, unless we can pull it together for the Tony Betten & Sons Ford dealership on Plainfield.



What a row of Hot Rods. These were all 100 point cars as far as I am concerned. I am sure a number of them won trophys. I wonder what that is like....




This sharp 2000 Corvette belongs to Kim. I liked what he did to the arm rest. Blending the yellow and black leather adds something unusual to this car. Nice job, Kim.






When I was a kid, I used to see one of these, in white, running around Muskegon, MI. on occassion. I remember well thinking, man, this is something special. Bill brought this car today, a 1955 Corvette Roadster. This is a unique car in that it has never been restored, has over 92,000 (careful) miles on it, and Bill has owned it for over 30 years. This is #483 of 700 made, has a 265 V-8, 12 volt system, and produces 195 HP at 5000 rpm! Dual exhaust, Hi lift cam, and 3 speed stick shift. Thanks for sharing that information, Bill. Hope to see you again. By the way, that is yours truly in the driver's seat! Thanks again, Bill!!





Clark brought his one owner, 1976 Pontiac Firebird to the show. It has the 400cid engine and looks sharp. Clark, is it true this car can get 30mpg? I heard that somewhere...



This is a 1939 International Fire Truck, with a D-30 body and a 232 engine. Don, I would like to have added some more info. If you write me, I will add whatever extra information you would like about this wonderful fire truck.








"We did it" was what Allan wrote in the "special features" section. And "did it" they did. Clean, straight and ready to rumble, this 1964 Dodge Polara 500 with a 470cid engine, showed so well. Thanks for bringing it to the show, Allan!




I thought this was a nice touch, the gull winged doors, on this 2000 (?) Mustang. It was loaded with features, but I didn't get a shot of the window tag to give credit to the owner. So, if this is yours, please write me and I will update the shot with some good information.






I am taking a shot at this one. I was not going to publish the pictures since, again, I didn't get the information about it. I believe it is a 1946 Chevy Coupe.
Again, if I am wrong, please write! Help!!





What I liked about this sharp Plymouth GTX was the book of restoration that was there to look at. This car was a basket case! Look at the picture! They had to cut away the entire rear quarter panel and replace the sheet metal. If you look closely, you will see a perfect looking car! Is it yours? Let me know!





This 1929 Ford Model A Town Sedan belongs to Steve. I am ending this post of the 2008 Holland Car Show with these shots of one of my favorite cars of all time. I just love the Model A. Someday maybe I will own one again. This car listed a "Keri-Keen Karrier Trunk" as a feature. Pretty nice!

Luther's Cruisers Car Club Garage Tour-Ada, Michigan

This is a "garage tour" that was taken in 2006. What a time we had! The owner of this collection of great automobiles and collectibles will go unnamed for security purposes, but I will say this. He is well past retirement and still restoring cars. His kids said "Dad, please sell off some of this stuff so we won't have such a mess to clean up". Sure. As he showed us some large trailers full of signs he just purchased and brought home to add to his collection.



The first picture is of the owner. Many will recognise him, but I won't tell you if it is the guy on the left or right.










The previous pictures are of the inside of one of the garages. Mixed with the great and rare paraphernalia are some of his wonderful automobiles. Study hard. How many items do you recognize from your past?

The following are a few of the many garages, sheds and lean-to shacks that he has his collection in. The main area is full of cars and thousands, yes, thousands- can you say tens of thousands? individual automobile paraphernalia.








The next section are some of the cars. Must have been 30 in all stages of restoring. Most were totally done, and done well. The first picture is of a totally restored engine, just can't remember which car it will go into!
