Video: A whole lot of 2010 Camaros in Dallas

Last week, a parade of 2010 Camaros drove from Victory Park in Dallas to Sundance Square in Ft. Worth with a police motorcade. It was Chevrolet's first large-scale Camaro event, and hopefully soon we'll be seeing lots of these on the streets.

On a side note, two weeks ago while driving through Atlanta I saw a yellow SS. Not really sure how someone got their hands on it before the first one was officially sold, unless it was a dealer or pretty important inside guy.

Burn Survivor's Car Show Part Four

This is the final grouping of the cars from the Burn Survivors Car Show. I am anxiously awaiting the next show! Monday is the Jamestown Memorial Day Parade and I plan on being there! Stop by and see the pictures posted Monday or Tuesday. This is a big event for such a small community. We have antique cars and tractors, horse and buggys and lots of fun! Now, on with the show!

This is Vern's very nice 1928 Chevy Coupe. Vern has won many trophys with this imaculate automobile. Vern does the work himself! I know that because he is my neighbor. Hi neighbor! Great job with the restoration!

This is a line of VW Campers. There were actually three rows of these vans, all in various stages of condition. From very nice, clean and restored to OMG why did they drive that thing here! This VW group is actually having its National Convention here in Grand Rapids and this is where they come together. Very interesting group I said as the sweet smell of grass flowed over my car!

I did not get the name of the owner of this car. A terrific paint job! Very patriotic. I used to have my tow trucks painted with flags when I owned my own towing company...in another life...

Sharp! Big! This is quite the 1948 Lincoln Continental Coupe, owned by Nelson and Betty from Hudsonville. I bet it flows down the road like a cloud! Thanks for bringing it guys! More info! This car was owned by Philippe Wyanne from the Spinners, a singing group from the 50's. 60's, and 70's! The Spinners never had a hit record until Philippe came aboard in 1970. "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love" was one of their hit records from the 70"s. Now, here is a real treat. Before clicking on the arrow in the middle of the picture below, go to the playlist on the right and click my music off. (Just above the name of the song is the control. "=" means stop.)
Don't just mute your speakers, that won't work! Enjoy!

Another one where there was no name on the car. So I can't give credit. If it is yours, let me know and I will mention your name. Note the heart in the back window of the convertible top. Cool...

I spoke to this gentleman just as the helicopter was getting ready for take off, and didn't write down his name. He is in a Grand Rapids Car Club. If you see your car, please let me know the info so I can update this post!

This is a great way to display your car. Give all the information about it on a board that is displayed out front of the car! Wonderful idea Tom! And a beautiful Red 1960 Ford Sunliner. Nice!

No info on this vehicle. It was very well done and the person who brought it deserves a good "thank you" for showing us it is not only cars that can be showstoppers! I also love how he did his info on the van. He took an antique floor coaster and refinished it to use as the info display. Neat idea!

This is a very nice car, too. Again, no information, but thought you would like to see it. If it is yours, you know the drill...give me your name and I will update the post with that information.

This was a smooth machine. Very well restored and displayed. Good job to the owner.
Now, let me ask a favor. I want to know that people are enjoying these photos and some of the owners are coming by to see the pictures. Please click the "comments" below this paragraph and let me know what you think! Thanks! Mike

Jamestown 4th of July Parade

Each 4th of July is a big deal in the beautiful village of Jamestown. The day starts early with the arrival of a dozen or so cars, twice as many tractors, horsedrawn carriages, riders on horseback, children on bikes, floats from the local businesses and churches...on and on.

.

This is Ken's truck. My my. 427 with all the noise of that big block just screaming at us all. What a hunk of burnin' horses!

I remember our first year in Jamestown, we said it was a "dog and pony show," because that is what it was. Dogs were dressed in their finest, ponies everywhere. It has matured a bit since then, but it is still a wonderful treat to have this big gathering in such a small (5,000 person) community.

I wish I had some pictures of some of the other items I mentioned, but I had no idea I would be writing a blog! Please enjoy what there is and I promise for 2008 there will be more!!
